November Book Reviews

Happy December, friends! I am so excited about today's post because I read some amazing books during November and I can't wait to share them with y'all.

Okay, sometimes I find a book on Instagram that I have never heard of and it catches my eye. I research a lot of books, but I had never even seen this book until another bookstagrammer posted about it. I picked it up based off her recommendation even though it sounded like nothing I would ever like. Y'all, this book gutted me. I'm not being dramatic when I say that I was literally a little sick after finishing it. It is SOOOOOO good! Highly highly recommend.

Unlike The Idea of You, I had been seeing Get a Life, Chloe Brown EVERYWHERE. I was excited to see it was a choice for Book of the Month. Sadly, I'm in the minority with this one. Everyone is raving about it, but I just didn't click with it-especially the characters. But again, everyone is loving it, so it may just be me.

If you've been following me for a while, you know I love R.S. Grey's books. They are light, quick romances that I just love. Her new one, His Royal Highness was such a cute romance. They are perfect if you are in need of a book that doesn't require a lot of thinking, but you know you will enjoy. I love them!

(Thanks to Amazon Publishing for sending me a copy of this one!)

Y'all, I was SO excited to get an ARC of Colleen Hoover's upcoming book, Regretting You. It is SOOO good! It's not my favorite book by her (That still goes to November 9) but I really enjoyed it and I think y'all will too. It's told from both the mother and the daughter's POV, which made it feel like two different stories. Loved!

Thanks to William Morrow for sending me a copy of this one!)

This is another book that I read because of Instagram. I never would have requested an ARC of this one based on the cover, but when I found out it was a boarding school story, I was sold. I don't know what my fascination is with books set in boarding schools, but I love them! This book is intense and unputdownable, but man was it hard to read at times. This isn't a book for everyone and if you do read it, be sure and pick up something light afterwards. I loved it, but man was it heavy!

Okay, so the last 4 books are all kindle copies because I finally invested in a Kindle this month and I had a little shopping spree on Kindle Unlimited. I have really enjoyed the Cloverleigh Farms series from Melanie Harlow. Each book follows a sister of the same family. I couldn't even begin to tell you which is which or what they were even about because they are like throw away reads for me. I love them, but they certainly don't stick with you. I mean that in the best way possible because these were 4 stars reads for me. I just can't remember anything about them LOL. I do know I liked the one about the sister who returns home for a wedding and falls in love with her childhood friend. Not sure if it's this one or the next. Forgive me LOL. Also be warned, these are R rated. You can certainly skip over those parts though because the love stories are just so sweet!

Back in May, I read The Kiss Thief by LJ Shen because I thought the cover was pretty. I ended up loving it, but was it very different than what I normally read (Chicago mobs??) and very VERY R rated. This one is the same way, but I loved the love story aspect of it. Be warned though! Also, Amazon has it listed as a holiday read, but I didn't really get that vibe from it. It's definitely not a Hallmark movie LOL

Just like with Melanie Harlow books, R.S. Grey books are the same way. I don't remember much about this one, but I loved it and it was perfect for when I had a ton going on in my life and I needed an escape. This one involved a hate to love storyline, which is one of my favorite tropes. Highly recommend.
