Happy Wednesday, y'all! It's time for another What I Wore Wednesday post where I recap last week's fashion (see all other fashion recap posts here). Last week was Thanksgiving break, so that meant no work! I spent the week in a mix of PJs and outfits that included jeans since we can't wear those to work. Here's my fashion from last week. :)

top: BP // skirt: Jcrew Factory // tights: Old Navy // shoes: Jack Rogers // handbag: Tory Burch // scarf: Old Navy

My mom and I spent the weekend shopping, which is my favorite way to spend the weekend. ;) I wore this pretty fall colored sidewalk skirt from Jcrew. I LOVE these sidewalk skirts! They are perfect for work. Or shopping!

sweatshirt: Old Navy // leggings: zella

The majority of the week was spent in loungewear! And I'm not complaining one bit.  3 more weeks until I can repeat this look daily.

top: Free People // leggings: Zella // scarf: Old Navy // shoes: Not Rated, similar here

My Thanksgiving outfit. There was absolutely no time for pictures during the day because of all the food, so Reese and I had to quickly grab a pic to document the day right before we left my house!

top: BP // fur vest: Jcrew // jeans: Articles of Society // boots: Seven Dial // handbag: Tory Burch, old similar here and here // necklace: Kendra Scott

It doesn't get extremely cold in Alabama, but we did have some cooler days last week, so I broke out my fur vest from Jcrew! I LOVE this vest, y'all!

sweater: LOFT // jeans: Current Elliot, no longer available, similar here  // boots: Burberry // sunglasses: Quay

On Saturday I celebrate small business Saturday by visiting my favorite bakery in Rome, GA. The Honeymoon Bakery has the best cheese straws in the world. They taste like sausage balls, but without the texture of the sausage. One of my absolute favorite things to eat. :)

So that was my Thanksgiving week in fashion! I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving with their family and friends. Let the Christmas countdown begin! :)

Hi friends! I was missing in action when it came to October's book review post and that's because I only read 2 books in October. It's probably been over 2 years since I've read that few books in a month. *sigh* Teacher life is so busy right now, so I'm combing October and November's book review posts together. Here's what I've been reading these last two months.

I am always on the hunt for a good southern fiction read and this one was so good! It reminded me of Cancel the Wedding, which was my favorite book of 2016. This one isn't quite as good, but I still really enjoyed it! It's about a girl who is an event planner in Chicago, but after a work disaster, she has to move back home to Georgia to her estranged father and his huge family that she doesn't remember. This one is so funny and has a cute little romance between the main character and the principal of the elementary school. I wish the romance aspect hadn't been as realistic as it was.  If you read it, you'll get what I meant. I didn't feel the love story was as powerful as it could have been.  I think it's the first in the series and I am crossing my fingers that the others come out soon because I just love the characters in this story.

I started out reading Without Merit at the beginning of October. I have read almost everything by CH (November 9 is my absolute fav) and I had high hopes for her newest release, but oh my goodness, y'all. I did not like this one at all. In fact, it was my least favorite book I read during October/November and it's now my least favorite Colleen Hoover book. You can see what everyone else thought in this Instagram post since it was the #lalalifebookclub October book. I just felt like it had way too many subplots going on and I didn't really like any of the characters. I wanted it to be more like her earlier work (November 9, Ugly Love, etc.) and it wasn't. It was too heavy and I understand and value "heavy" books, but I didn't want this one to be that. I get the significance of the issues and I realize they need to be discussed... I just was hoping for a different type of story. I didn't like Sagan AT ALL. I also thought there was wayyyyy too much going on to successfully tackle any real issue. I mean, there was the issue with the mother, the older brother, the main character, Sagan's family, the sister... There was way too much happening for me to really be invested in anyone's storyline. I'm sorry to be drag on this one!

I bought this one back in the summer, but finally got around to it in October and I LOVED it! It's a thriller about a girl who finds a man on the beach. He has no memory of who he is or how he got there. Meanwhile, there's another plot that involves a girl whose husband goes missing. Then there's another plot about a brother and sister who meet a strange man during a family vacation. It sounds confusing, but I promise it's not. The author does a GREAT job with making the reader invested in each of the three different stories and you will LOVE how they turn out to be connected in the end. I loved this one!!

If you've been reading my book reviews for a while now, you know I love Lauren Layne books. Romance reads are some of my favorite kinds of stories and LL is one of my top three favorite romance authors. Her newest book came out around the first of November and I immediately downloaded it to read while I waited for my car to be serviced. I loved this one. It wasn't my favorite of hers, but such a sweet story! If you need a quick, light hearted, Christmas-y love story, pick this one up! :)

Rating: 5 STARS

I've read two other Megan Miranda books before (All the Missing Girls and The Perfect Stranger), so I was eager to pick this one up. This one is a young adult thriller about a girl whose ex boyfriend dies in a car crash and his mom asks her to clean out his room. As she is doing this, she finds things and realizes she might not have known her ex boyfriend quite as much as she thought she did. I loved this one, but someting was missing for me. The ending was a bit far fetched, but I still really enjoyed it!

I'm all about some light hearted romance reads and R.S. Grey doesn't disappoint! I read her newest release and LOVED it! It's now my favorite book of her's. It's about a girl who works at the country club and falls for one of the club's richest men. What can I say, I'm a sucker for a romance story!

So that's what I read during October and November! What did you read? I'd love to hear any suggestions!

Hi y'all! It's currently 8:13am and I'm sitting on the couch in my PJs while writing this blog post. And it's a Wednesday. That must mean it's Thanksgiving break! Yay! I am loving life right now. I spent all day yesterday decorating my house for Christmas. I wish every week could be Thanksgiving week. Don't get me wrong; I love my teaching job, but I LOVE staying home!

Here's a recap of last week's fashion. Some outfits I wore to work and some are weekend wear/after school outfits. We aren't allowed to wear jeans to work, so any outfit that includes jeans is definitely not a work outfit! :)

top: BP. // scarf: BP. (sold out, similar here and here) // jeans: Articles of Society // boots: Seven Dial

I spent Sunday at Target stocking up on Christmas tree decor. I am almost finished with it, but I still need a few little embellishments and a tree skirt. Maybe a blog post when I finish? Let me know! :)

top: BP. // vest: Old Navy // jeans: Current Elliot // shoes: Sam Edelman (sold out, similar here) // earrings: Kendra Scott

On Saturday, I ran a few errands, which included stopping by Lowes to grab some wintergreens for my front porch. Goodbye mums, hello evergreens! :) These vests are currently 40% off. I love them. They are comfortable and easy to wear. Some vests are chunky and binding, but these fit great.

sweater: Free People // leggings: Zella // shoes: Sam Edelman (sold out, similar here) // handbag: Tory Burch (old, similar here) // sunglasses: Quay // earrings: BaubleBar // bracelet: Express (ooooold)

Friday was such a busy day, so I didn't get to take a better picture of this outfit because I didn't get home until way past dark. I snapped this as I was leaving that morning, so it isn't the best quality, but it'll just have to do! This sweater is one of my favorites. I love everything about it from the color, to the texture, to the fit. It's one of those tops you don't have to think about. You can just throw it on and you've got an outfit! :)

cardigan: H&M // top: BP. // leggings: Zella // shoes: Tory Burch // handbag: Kate Spade (old, similar here) // necklace: Kendra Scott // necklace: Kendra Scott // earrings: Kendra Scott // lipcolor: MAC in Candy Yum Yum

When I saw this $24 leopard cardigan, I knew I had to have it. It is amazing quality for the price and I LOVE the longer length. You can wear it with leggings and it comes to right above the knee. Seriously one of my new favorite pieces at the moment.

wrap: Nordstrom // top: BP. // jeans: Articles of Society // boots: Jack Rogers // necklace: Kendra Scott // sunglasses: Quay

I wore this buffalo check wrap on Tuesday with black pants, but I changed into jeans after school. I am loving any and all buffalo check pieces right now. This wrap is like wearing a big cozy blanket to work. I love it!

Happy Thanksgiving, friends! Let me know if you want to see a home tour because my house is currently decorated from top to bottom in all things Christmas! :) :)

Hi friends! So this "teacher fashion" weekly outfit recap isn't very "teachery"! I only had work three days last week due to Veteran's day. so you will find LOTS of jeans in this outfit recap post. We aren't allowed to wear jeans to work, so whenever I'm not working, there's a good chance you'll find me wearing a pair of fun denim! :)
